Embracing Lief is a fledgling band that formed around a year ago by three Florida Southern students. I interviewed drummer and Florida Southern sophomore, Robert Tucker, about Embracing Lief's recent success and what's too come in the near future.

The Southern - Hey what's up?

Rob Tucker - I was out in the mystical lands of the area that is now called the campus of Florida Southern College, bathing in the sunrays of success, and then you interrupted me with this stupid interview.

The Florida Southern College swim team seems unscathed by the recent loss of their former head coach, Tom Schmelz, and the swimmers brought their best effort to the FSC pool as they continued their season in a meet against Rollins College.

Interim coach Mike Blum led the swimmers during the meet.
Having a 3-12 regular season and 2-6 record in the Sunshine State Conference matches, the Mocs dealt with a lot of injured starting players.

Call us crazy, but we've always liked to think that Florida Southern College's Safety department is capable of providing for our safety. So far, they have generally lived up to that expectation.

We are not going to lie. There have been times when we haven't felt the safest, but maybe we just have wild imaginations.

Florida Southern is a college that motivates its students to develop a healthy mind, body and spirit. Through various programs, FSC attempts to raise awareness of the positive effects of leading a healthy lifestyle. Most recently, the Campus-wide Wellness Initiative, implemented in Fall 2007, listed 10 concerns for student health and success.

Role Models I had high hope for this movie and it almost reached it, but it wasn't quite far enough. "Role Models" did what every comedy of today does. It shows the best parts in the trailer and the rest of the movie stinks. Now I'm not saying that you should not go and see it, but be warned that it is not side splitting and that is so hilarious you will be rolling out of your seat.

I've been considered legally an adult for about a year and a half now and I've realized something. You can't do much at the age of 18. There are so many things you can't do unless you're 21. I'm starting to think that 21 is really the age at which you are actually legally an adult.

As most of you know, Florida Southern College is trying to make our campus more eco-friendly and is going green by having designated areas for items like paper or plastic to be recycled, switching out the normal light bulbs with more efficient ones and probably the most noticed change for students who live on campus by removing trays from the cafeteria.

As students at Florida Southern College, we have a wide variety of options on campus. From classes to campus life, many choices exist to help us get the most out of our college experience. However, when it comes to academic options for success, it seems that students feel Florida Southern doesn't measure up.
